This is the error I get trying to access 1Password through the Safari browser extension on one of my MacBook Airs. The two computers are sharing the data file over dropbox. It works fine on one but not the other. Both have Lion. I get this error trying to enter the master password. It says there is a problem with the database. I've tried clearing cache's, rebuilding the datafile and reinstalling the Safari extension. What should I do next?

    Hi ajbehrens,

Thanks for taking the time to contact us. I'm sorry that you are having this problem.

It sounds like your Safari extensions preferences may have gotten corrupted. The following steps will require you to reinstall any extension you have installed in Safari, but should get things working well again:

    1. Quit Safari.
    2. Open a Finder window and select "Go to Folder" from the Go menu.
    3. Type this in the input field and then press Return:

      ~/Library/Safari/Extensions

    4. Move the files you see there to your Desktop or some other folder you can easily find later if necessary.

    5. Restart Safari.
    6. Reinstall the 1Password extension and your other extensions.

Please let me know how it goes.

    Hi There -

I have the same error that 'ajbehrens' reported and followed the steps outlined.

I still get the same error:

    Problem with Database
Data Error 1: No such column.

    Hi Chris,

Sorry for the trouble here, could you try something different instead, as your error seems a little different. Can you go to Safari > Preferences > Extensions and remove 1Password from the list.

Once that's done, please try the following:

    • Quit Safari and 1Password
    • Open a Finder window and select Go > Go to Folder
    • Enter ~/Library/Safari/Databases and press enter
    • Delete the folder named 'safari-extension_com.agilebits.onepassword-safari-2bua8c4s2c_0'
    • Restart Safari
    • Install our latest extension from https://agilebits.com/extensions/mac/safari.html

You should now be all set, if you continue to have problems do you use Private Browsing mode in Safari or any 'cleaning' tools?
