Suggestion for Edit command keyboard shortcut

I have a great suggestion for the "Edit Selected Item" and "Finish Editing Selected Item" menus. Would it be possible to give them both the same CMD-L (Command Key - L) keyboard shortcut that many of the other Apple applications use? Apple Address Book program uses the same CMD-L to both put a record in edit mode "Edit Card" and then back out when finished.

Thanks for thinking about it!

Hi, Matt! Thank you for the suggestion. The easiest way to use exactly the keyboard shortcut you want for a menu option in just about any OS X application is to use System Preferences to change it. For example, in this case:

    • Open System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts.
    • Click Application Shortcuts on the left side, then click the + button on the right side.

    KB shortcut system prefs 1

    • Select 1Password in the Application drop-down menu, enter the exact menu option name, and record your keyboard shortcut.

    KB shortcut system prefs 2

    • Repeat the process for the "finish" command.

    KB shortcut system prefs 3

    Before:

    1Password Edit Selected Before

    After:

    1Password Edit Selected After

    I hope that helps!

Thank you Nik, that's a great suggestion and I have followed it and it is working correctly. Do you think that is something you could just put in the next release for 1Password so that it is permanently fixed for everyone? I don't think it is something that is far-fetched from the current trends, since it exactly matches the same command key of several of Apple's applications.

Glad Nik's suggestion did the trick.

We consider all feature requests, but we never promise or commit to any, we're a fairly small team and so we have to use our development resources as wisely as possible. That doesn't mean your suggestion isn't valid, or good, but we get so many that we really do have to do very fine balancing act.
