Chrome extensions don't seem to load
I got a message "Attempted to Load Extension" after trying to load extension on Chrome browser, so didn't appear to load properly.
How can I get current extension to work properly?

Hi, Philip. I'm sorry for the trouble you're having. If you go to Chrome and choose Window > Extensions and remove all 1Password extensions there. Then, install the current release from our website
If you still have trouble, please send a diagnostics report so we can investigate further.
I hope that helps. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Jamie,
Still doesn't work. It loaded the extension but when I click the One Password button on the toolbar nothing happens.

Jamie-
Sorry, but tried again with Chrome. Nothing worked. Also, can't seem to generate diagnostic report following the instructions.
Went to install extension on Safari. Thought I had but no 1password icon showing on Safari toolbar.
Most recent Firefox update doesn't support 1password.
So after using the application for 3+ years none of my browsers currently allow me to use it. Would love to continue to use it if someone can help me. I am using this version of 1password: Version 3.8.14 (build 31251)
Thanks.
Phil

Hey there, Phillip!
Thanks for following up. I am sorry for the trouble.
1Password does indeed work with the latest versions of Firefox, Safari, and Chrome. Unfortunately in order to help you with this we really need more information, so that we can diagnose the problem in the first place. This is where the Diagnostics Report comes in.
You say you were not able to generate one. Could you tell me in detail what steps you are taking and what is or is not happening the way you expected? Please let me know. I look forward to hearing back from you. :)

I think I was going to Help in Chrome rather than 1 password. Here is the diagnostic:

Hi Philip,
Could you reinstall Chrome and see if that'll help. According to the system logs, Chrome seem to be having some issues and also, it doesn't appear to be installed in the Applications folder. I'm not sure if you renamed Chrome or running Chrome from a different folder.
Trash Chrome and then download a new copy from their site via here:
http://www.google.com/chrome/
Open the downloaded file and drag it to your Applications folder. Open Chrome from there and see if 1Password works better now.
If that didn't help, please open the main 1Password app and unlock it. Now, restart Chrome and see if 1Password will open for you.
I hope this helps, please let me know.
Thanks!

Mike,
Still doesn't work. Followed your instructions.
1. Got the 1 password icon installed on Chrome after installing extension.
2. Clicked on the icon and typed in master password
3. Got response it was initializing
4. Then nothing. Cannot enter master password and clicking on 1password icon is fruitless. Nothing happens.
Any other suggestions?
Phil

Hi Philip,
The good news is that the browser is now correctly installed and so is the extension. It did sync the database correctly and it was working in the background.
Close Chrome, open the main 1Password app, unlock it and then open Chrome, does it show you anything at all?
If not, switch back to the 1Password app, and go to the 1Password Menu > Preferences > Security. Make sure both "Disable automatic unlock" options are unchecked. Once you do that, restart Chrome and see if it'll work.
I hope this helps, please let me know how it turns out.
Thanks!

Mike,
Seems to be working! Thanks very much for the help.
By the way, does 1 password support Firefox 9.0 yet?

Hello Phil,
On Mike's behalf, you are very welcome! I'm glad he was able to help you.
Also, 1Password does support Firefox 9! Currently, I use 1P with both Firefox 9 and 10, so you shouldn't have a problem with either the stable or beta versions of Mozilla's browser. :)
If we may be of further assistance, please let us know.
Cheers!

Brandt,
I can't seem to get 1 password to load onto Firefox. I go to 1 password load browser extensions. I then click on Firefox and nothing is there. I've also gone to Firefox to look for the 1password extension and can't find it.
What am I doing wrong?

Hi Phil,
Our extension is not available via the Firefox Get Add-ons site, so let's try a direct approach.
Open Firefox, and cut/paste the following URL into the Firefox browser: https://agilebits.com/extensions/mac/index.html
Once you arrive at our Extensions Download page, click on the
Downloadbutton next toFirefox 6+. This will download our Firefox extension directly into Firefox, and you will be presented with popup windows within Firefox asking for you to confirm the installation. Please follow these prompts until our extension is installed. After doing so, please look for our "Key icon" to the right of the address bar. This is the default location for our extension. If you do not see it, and/or you have any other issues, please let us know.
Regards,
Brandt

Hi Phil,
Excellent! I'm glad that we got you up and running. Also, thank you so much for the kind words. We never tire of hearing from happy customers!
Hopefully, you will have no further issues running 1P in either Chrome or Firefox...but, if you do, you know where we are! :)
Best wishes,
Brandt

Brandt,
Sorry to report that the issue with Chrome has re-surfaced, i.e., I can't produce a drop-down menu of log-ins after clicking the browser icon and entering the master password. No problems with my other browsers.
Do you know what the issue might be?

Phil,
Does 1Password just hang when you try to enter the master password? If so, let's try something different, open and unlock 1Password itself first, then restart Chrome, click the 1Password icon, you should see your details.
If so, the next step is to click the Settings icon, represented by a cog, and click the 'About' button, then the 1Password logo and now uncheck 'Enable Unlock Animations'. That should fix things for you.

Thanks, Stu.
I was able to generate the drop-down menu following the steps you outlined. I've taken the additional steps you recommended and will keep my fingers crossed.
Thanks, again.

Thanks, Phil,
Do keep us posted, I believe Dave is going to remove animations completely as this has caused so many issues, they were a nice touch and provided visual feedback but at the same time performance has to come first.
