1Password stopped working in Chrome
Hi there,
1P has stopped working in Chrome. My current version is Version 3.8.14 (build 31251) and I'm on 10.7.2 on a Mac. Chrome version is 18.0.
I have tried re-installing the extension by going to the agilebits extension link but I get the error message "Attempted to downgrade extension." and I click Okay but nothing happens. I've restarted the computer, tried restarting just the browser but nothing seems to work. When I look at the installed Extensions for Chrome 1Password does not show up on the page.
I was using the latest Beta when the problem started and have since installed the latest stable build in place of the beta but can't seem to get 1P to work in Chrome. Working fine in Safari and FF, though.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Kevin

Sorry for the trouble here, Kevin, I think you may still have our latest Beta installed in Chrome, as it probably wouldn't let you install the older stable version over the Beta.
To confirm this, can you go to Window > Extensions within Chrome and confirm which version of the 1Password extension you have?

Yeah, that's what's weird - 1P doesn't show up in the Extensions list anymore. But still gives me the error when I try to install it.

Thanks for the update Kevin.
It's very weird that 1Password is not in the Extensions list but you still see the "Attempted to downgrade extension" error message.
Just a few days ago I released 3.9.0.39007, so the version number should be bigger than anything previous version. Can you try one last time and ensure you're downloading 3.9.0.39007? Just to ensure it is not a caching issue, please use this direct link:

If it still gives the error, you might have to resort to the advice I saw while doing a quick Google on this: reinstall Chrome and/or create a new profile.
Please let me know how it turns out. Thanks!

Hi Dave,
Installing the 3.9 beta worked.
I can't tell you how much 1P has helped me out over the years.
Thanks,
Kevin
