At this point I simply don't know enough about Passes to
comment, however I'm sure as more information becomes available
we'll put together a blog post.
OK. Yes, it can be public. I seem to recall there was an option
to make a post public or private but I didn't see it when I posted
the query. Did I miss it?
??? Private questions should be handled via email or pm on a
Public Discussions board. If you are going to have a board labeled
"Public Discussions" then the discussions should be open so that
other 1P users can help fellow users. Otherwise get rid of it and
do everything via email.
Just looked at the new "Passbook" feature in iOS 6 at https://www.apple.com/ios/ios6/
and it looks like 1P dodged the initial bullet; we'll have to see
when iOS 6 is released in the fall. Of course you'll get the beta
version earlier so you should be able to do some pre-emptive damage
control.
This site is not a replacement for the community forum over at
http://forum.agilebits.com
- it's our support system with a nice combination of private by
default threads and public threads if users want them to be. We do
have e-mail support as well, but this system works well for us and
our users.
Passpack is by no means a replacement for 1Password though,
we've not been 'Sherlocked', this is something completely
different, to store things like movie tickets, boarding passes,
Starbucks cards etc, there's no password details there.

Hi Romad,
Thanks for the persistence.
Technically, Apple already does similar things to us with
Keychain Access and Safari's built in Auto-Fill features. But we do
things differently enough that I don't think we are in a position
of ever being Sherlocked.
We are cross platform, we sync with iOS, Windows and Mac. We are
also cross browser, Safari, Chrome and Firefox.
We have a lot of added features that would make us useful even
if Apple did try improve their password features.

Hi Romad,
We recently made some changes to our support system such that conversations are private by default, but can be opened up later.
Thanks!

Ah, I see. I was misled by the "Public Discussions" title; I thought that meant the forms had been included.
Beware though, this iteration of Passbook is just the "nose of the camel" ;)
