Partially sharing

Hi,
I know it's possible to share the data file by putting it in a shared folder but is it possible to share only a part of the data file?
I would like to share only the company passwords with my partner and keep our personal password to ourselves.
Thanks in advance!

    Hi Llias,

That's not possible at the moment, this is something we plan to support in a future update but I don't have a timeframe on this. This is one of the biggest feature requests we get and we want this feature too.

I'm sorry that we can't give you this right now but hopefully, it won't take long to see this happen.

Please let me know if there's anything else I can help with.

    Thanks!

I really need to share passwords among 2 or 3 persons.
So my plan is to selected passwords in interchange format to an USB key.
They i bring this USB key to the computers of my colleague (computers supposed to be clean of virus...).
    My colleague import the passwords.
I delete the interchange file on the USB key.

Is this a safe process for sharing passwords please ?

For my purposes it works well since I am not constantly changing the passwords I share with others. It is only done on rare occasions after the users have the passwords stored in their own data files.

Please remember that the 1PIF information is not encrypted and should be handled with care while in transit and securely deleted once the information is safely imported into an encrypted 1Password data file.

Treat the USB flash drive you use to transport the data as carefully as you would treat a piece of paper with the passwords written on it.

If we can be of further assistance, please let us know. We are always here to help!

Has any progress been made since January on sharing only part of the data file? I'm trying to do the same thing as Ilias.

Another issue I'm facing is that my department uses both Mac and PCs. Will it be possible to share the data file between platforms?

    Thanks

I doubt we'll see anything until 1Password v4 at the earliest.

It is currently possible to use the same data file between Macs and Windows PCs. We suggest using Dropbox to sync between computers. Please see this help guide for more details: http://help.agilebits.com/1Password3/cloud_syncing_with_dropbox.html

    Thanks Ben for your feedback.

Is it unclear then if the earlier versions of 1Password v4 will have partial data file sharing or not, at this time?

We have 15 people in the office I work in that would require 1Password to be installed on their computer. In regards to pricing would it make sense to purchase 3 bundle licenses? I'm not sure if you have any deals for businesses. Also, would there be a way to upgrade to 1Password 4 with only paying an upgrade cost? I've read on a few forums that this was a possibility for some users, but it wasn't entirely clear if this was being extended to everyone.

    Hey Craig,

This is a request we've gotten a lot recently and I know it's on our development team's radar for consideration but I'm afraid we can't make any promises or give you a timeline.

We have a business store setup that will let you designate the number of licenses you need and give you a discount. You can access this page through the following link:

    https://agilebits.com/store/business

I hope that helps, I wish I could give you a more definite answer on the team features, hopefully we'll be able to provide a better solution in the future!

Is there anything else i can assist you with?
