The list of formats for importing data into 1Password does not seem to include Keychain data. Is there some way to resolve this, so that I don't have to do it all over again manually?
I submitted this question previously, but now I can't find it.

Thanks for taking the time to contact us John.

Your other question was posted to here:

Stu already replied there to let you know there is no easy way to do an import from the OS X Keychain. If you are technically inclined, a passionate user wrote a script that handles some of this for you:

    https://gist.github.com/1289716

Please don't follow those steps unless you're a power user or at the very least familiar with Terminal and BASH.

I'm sorry I don't have a better answer for you; I'd love to fully automate this but it's proved a tricky problem to overcome.

Thanks for your quick reply. I have downloaded the script, but I probably won't use it unless I get a lot more practice with scripting and Terminal, etc.. I am puzzled about this situation. Communing with Keychain would seem to be high on the priority list for this development.

Thanks for the update John. You're right, this is a key feature we'd love to add. The problem is the way the OS X Keychain is designed. It hasn't seen a meaningful update in many years and it has some critical limitations that make it very painful to use. The script above works around many of the problems but it is error prone and many of the techniques used will not be allowed by Apple when we submit updates to the Mac App Store.

In any event, that is our problem and not yours. We're still searching for a workaround that can be used by non-power-users. Hopefully we can find one.
