Lost Agile Keychain!

The user preferences in my account on my Macbook Pro were somehow corrupted and I was forced to delete the account. I migrated (what I thought was ) everything over to a new account making sure 1Password still worked in the new. I deleted the old account and am now getting an error message in Safari saying:

"Could not sync because the 1Password database was replaced or was recreated. You can fix this problem by reinstalling the extension."

1Password still works in Safari and Chrome and all PWs are there. When I go to open the 1P app, it asks me to locate the existing data file. It's no where to be found. No 1Password folder in Application Support.

Is it possible that I deleted the keychain yet the browser extension still works? If so, can I get my keychain back?!

Thanks,
Chris

    Hi Chris,

Thanks for taking the time to contact us with your questions.

1Password stores its data file in a separate location from the application. So simply having the application doesn't mean you have the data file.

Do you happen to have a TimeMachine backup of your computer? Or any backup made otherwise from prior to the user account deletion? If so we can probably recover the whole keychain. If not, we'll have to try recovering what we can from the extension (please do not remove them).

    Cheers!

Thanks for the quick reply, Kyle.

I can't access my Time Machine backup because the user file it's connected to is gone (at least I think I can't). I have it in Safari and Chrome extensions and on my iPhone. Any way to access it there?

    Hi Chris,

I'm not sure of that particulars of Time Machine with that respect. You'd have to consult Apple for a definite answer.

It may be possible to export your data that is cached in the browser extension then import it into the main 1Password application in a new data file.

This page should help you do so:
    https://agilebits.com/extension/test/export_data

Please be sure to select the option to export all data, not just non-synced data.

I hope that helps. Should you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to ask.
