Things aren't working right anymore in Chrome
Hi,
I have been a 1password user for a year now. Suddenly as of a few days ago 1password stopped responding to the keyboard shortcut "command-\" in Chrome. I have to manually click the toolbar key icon to fill in a password. But the worst thing is that I don't have to unlock 1password when I click the icon--it just fills in the password without asking for my master password! Things are working normally in Firefox and in the actual 1password application. The problem seems to just be in Chrome. I have the newest version of 1password and the browser extension installed. Please help.
Thanks,
David

Nevermind. I uninstalled the 1password :Chrome extension and went back to the app to reinstall the browser extensions. Decided to check for updates (even though I updated just a week ago) and saw the latest update fixes a disconnect in Chrome to the helper. Updated, reinstalled the browser extensions, and we're back to normal.
Still kinda scary though...it was not pleasant to have my browser passwords unlocked...

Hi David,
I'm glad you got things figured out. Whenever you encounter issues it is always best to check for updates.
In this particular situation you should've noticed a red exclamation point in the icon for 1Password in Chrome. This is a warning that things are not working correctly and that you should:
In that order, typically updates can solve the problem for most people.
I'm sorry for the inconvenience though, but glad you got it fixed up! Please let us know if we can ever help in the future.
Cheers!

Hi Kyle,
Thanks for the info. All makes sense except I had literally done an update a week earlier so just didn't think of checking again. Now I will ;) and I know about the red icon too.
It's still a little disconcerting that not updating could result in my passwords becoming unprotected. I think this issue should be addressed.
all the best,
David

Hi Kyle,
I've been having the red icon on my 1P chrome extension for a couple weeks and the same problems described as above. I checked for updates multiple time (1Password & Chrome. I uninstalled and reinstalled the Plugin multiple times and I've deactivated all my other plugins. I've restarted the app helper.
I still can't guess what the problem can be. I've been reading the knowledgebase and forums, but I just can't guess what about my environment is causing the conflict.

Hi David,
We'll certainly take a closer look at things and see if we can improve it.
But if you ever notice things like this happening it is definitely best to check for updates as that is typically what causes the trouble.
Have a fantastic week, and please let us know if we can ever help in the future.
Cheers!
