13" Macbook Screens and the menubar
Hey Guys
Its time to resurrect and old thread :D
In a galaxy far far away and a very long time ago. We had a discussion in the old forums about an app to add functionality to the menubar for those of use using a 13" Macbook etc.
Today I found that app its called "Bartender" I urge you all to look at as myself, roustem and gita were the primary folks in the discussion. I have emailed the developers because the 1P helper icon doesn't play nicely with it, (it just gets hidden) but thats a very small thing as I like 1P and Dropbox in my primary menubar.

Hey Tom,
Thanks for posting that, speaking personally, you just made my day, I've been looking and looking for something like this!
I'll go ahead and pass this on to the team, would you let us know what the developer writes back?
Thanks!

Hi Tom,
Thanks for mentioning this! I may just have to give this a shot. It may help significantly on my MacBook Air!
Nice pricing, too!
Cheers!

@Chris
Re the developer update in the newest release, the notes dont mention the helper directly but the initial description does. :)

Seems to crash often for me in the latest update, I keep sending in reports. I have narrowed it down to (atleast on my end) when the app store quits an app to install a new version. Or when my low battery script runs and triggers a mass shutdown of all non essential apps.

Ouch, that somewhat sucks Tom, I haven't tried Bartender yet, though having the 11" Air I may well have to.
Did you contact their support team as well as sending the reports, any joy?

They probably have me on speed dial :P
I will use it till its bug free I will never run my MBP without it again. I have more apps in it vs whats in my normal menubar.
A quick Quicksilver trigger works wonders for me.
Ben Surtees (Dev) has been very good at replies and fixing bugs so I just keep sending them to him.
This has become my pet project as of late.

Hey Guys
Just a little something to talk about on a sloooooooooow Sunday afternoon around the house.
Ben released an update to Bartender the other day, and since then I have recorded no crashes etc. Its almost ready for the big time. IMHO.
Not one single crash, I even went ahead and promoted it to use on my mini which runs no beta stuff.

Awesome Tom!
I've installed the update as well. Though I don't put 1Password's menu bar in it, but I'll pass this along to the rest of the team. Glad to see they've fixed a few of the bugs they were having with stability for sure! :)
